Picasso

2003 - 2019

I had to say goodbye to this handsome dude this week... My best boy, the love of my life, my Picasso... Words cannot describe how much I'm going to miss him. He's been with me 16 almost 17 years. (81 years old in human years) He had a pretty amazing life though. I adopted him & Claude when I lived in Waco. They were rescues, their mother had been hit by a car. He was so sick when I brought him home & I had to nurse him back to health. He grew to be so big & strong. He had lots of adventures. We moved a few times, he loved being outside & exploring. He'd disappear for a day or 2 & I'd be certain that he got ran over or eaten by something and then he'd meow at the door wanting back in. He was the smartest cat I've ever known. When he was a kitten he figured out not only how to open the door, but how to unlock it... And he just kept going from there. He was diagnosed with kidney disease a few years ago & 2 weeks ago he was no longer able to walk and when I took him to the vet, they told me he also had leukemia too. The past 2 weeks of watching him & not knowing how to help were pure agony. He was ready to be free & now he's on his greatest adventure yet. Claude & I will sure miss him though. 😢💔
