BELLA 🐾🎀🐾
We talk about Bella the way people talk about miracles, because that’s what she was to us…Bella moved through our life like a small, bright miracle —
a heartbeat with fur, a daughter with paws,
a soul who never needed words to understand you.
Her little Mohawk, that proud stripe of personality, always stood like a flag announcing her spirit:
bold, funny, stubborn, uniquely hers.
It wasn’t just hair — it was attitude,
a reminder that she was never “just a dog,”
but a character written straight from my heart.
Car rides were her kingdom.
The world passing by, windows cracked,
her face tilted toward the wind
as if she could taste every mile.
We didn’t just drive —
We traveled together,
three souls moving through the world
with the kind of trust only love builds.
On hikes, she became something wilder,
a little explorer with a brave heart,
sniffing the edges of the earth
as if she remembered a life before this one.
We followed her,
not because she knew the trail,
but because she knew joy.
And joy was always the right direction.
And then there was chicken —
her favorite love language.
The way her eyes lit up,
the tiny dance in her paws,
the pure happiness of something so simple.
It was never about the food.
It was about the moment:
Us giving, her receiving,
both of us knowing
this was one of the many ways
we said “I love you” to each other.
She had her people, too.
Her circle.
Her fan club.
Her family.
Everyday someone on video call would want to speak to her - her daddy while at work, her Nana, her auntie Nicole or Nini.
And every evening, she waited for her WhatsApp call with her Yia Yia —
tail wagging, eyes bright,
like she knew she was about to hear a voice that adored her.
Those calls were her ritual,
her comfort,
her joy.
She loved them.
She loved her.
She loved all of us with a heart bigger than her body.
Bella wasn’t a pet.
She was our pretty girl,
our companion through quiet mornings
and loud storms,
our comfort, our laughter,
our soft place to land, as we were hers.
She taught us how love can be gentle,
how loyalty can be wordless,
how family can be chosen
and still feel destined.
And even now —
in memory, in spirit, in the echo of her paws and toe nails clacking —
she remains.
Not gone.
Not lost.
Just carried.
In every sunrise,
in every empty seat beside us on the drive,
in every breeze on a trail,
in every bite of chicken that reminds us
of her joy.
Bella is forever our furbaby daughter,
our best friend,
our love of life —
the soul who made our world softer
and our heart bigger.
